1. 1st Lobster

First Lobster is a much loved restaurant and bar, that brings fresh lobsters, oysters and fish over to Austria from the American east coast. It’s a fine dining institution with quirky decor and generous portions. 

It might seem unusual to be eating Maine lobster in an Austrian ski resort, but it definitely steals the show. Make sure to book, as tables fill up quickly.


2. Huberbräu-Stüberl

This cosy inn serves regional dishes and tyrolean specialties. It’s walk in only, and you can expect hearty and high quality food from across the region. 

The vibe is down to earth with regards to both interior and presentation, a truly classic Austrian experience. The menu has a wide range of meats and specialties to choose from.

3. Mocking – Das Wirtshaus

Siblings Martin and Andrea serve delicious food using ingredients from the Kitzbühel region, with a menu that changes with the seasons. Whilst the flavours are classic Austrian, the implementation is always modern and creative.

With a Tuscan atmosphere, and delicious homemade pasta, stop at Alt for a taste of Italy. Ingredients are carefully selected for their quality, with wine imported from Tuscany.

5. Hahnenkammstüberl

For breakfast, you have to head to Hahnenkammstüberl for a traditional Alpine meal. With amazing views of the alps, they specialise in Gröstl, Spatzl, blood sausage Gröstl, omelet with spinach and sheep’s cheese, plus dip, natural schnitzel with thyme potatoes from the oven, Lisi’s cakes and strudl, Kaiserschmarrn.

6. Hornköpflhütte

This rustic spot has a stunning view of the Tyrolean mountains, and serves traditional Tyrolean specialties, pan dishes and wines. There’s a lake nearby if you fancy a Summer dip, or it makes the perfect stop after a day of skking. 


7. Hutschpferd Palais

The perfect evening spot, Hutschpferd Palais has a fun, relaxed atmosphere, lively music and great food. They’re known for their schnitzel, fries, a nights filled with prosecco.

This lovely inn and farmhous is on the “Hagstein” ski run, and has been around since 1793. Right on the Horn, above the city, you can escape the city and be spoiled with hearty food from their own farm.
