The most popular beach and Nusa Penida photo spot is Diamond Beach. To get the best shots, arrive here before 9am before the floods of tourists come. Everyone wants the same photo leading down the stairs to the beach so it does get really busy.

Once you’re down the stairs, there’s a nest and swing which also makes for great photos. You can only walk on the beach when the tide is low, but you can get some nice shots of the diamond-shaped rocks.

2. Atuh Beach

On the eastern side of the island is Atuh Beach. It’s one of the least crowded on the island and you can get to it from Diamond Beach. Park your car or bike at the car park by Diamond Beach and take the 20 minute walk down to Atuh.

The views are breathtaking, and you’ll find a lot of great angles along the stretch. Most popular is the big rock in front of the seashore here, which has a beautiful natural arch that looks great in photos.

3. Thousand Island Viewpoint

A short drive from Diamond and Atuh beach is this amazing viewpoint. You can park here, and then walk down a set of stairs to get this beautiful view. The huge rocks in the ocean make the perfect backdrop for photos.

When you’re done at Thousand Island Viewpoint, head to Ruhmah Pohon Treehouse. The beautiful bamboo treehouse has a fairytale feel, sitting high above the sea. This is an airbnb but tourists are welcome to take photos, and it makes for a great spot to watch the sunset and get some unique shots.

Walking around should only take you about an hour, leaving plenty of time to relax at Vela Pržina beach — 400m of soft sand and clear blue waters. Or, if you fancy exploring the greenery, head for a meal at a village konoba in the forest. Specialties here include lamb, cured ham and of course, fresh seafood. The island can be reached by ferries from both Split and Dubrovnik.

5. Crystal Bay

One of the most beautiful beaches on Nusa Penida is Crystal Bay. There is a huge rock in the ocean that has a temple on top of it, and you get get a great vantage point by following the trail on the left of the beach.

This is the best place on the island to snorkel, so grab your waterproof camera or GoPro and go for a swim!

6. Peguyangan Waterfall

With hundreds of bright blue stairs leading to this magical waterfall, Peguyangan is sacred to the Indonesian locals and a beautiful place for visitors. The views here are breathtaking, and once you get to the waterfall there is a small temple and amazing natural infinity pool over the ocean.

The harbour is the perfect place to spend your evening yacht-watching at a cocktail bar or classy restaurant. Overall, the island has something for everyone – beautiful natural landscapes, luxury hotels and restaurants, all-night dance bars and some of the best beaches in Croatia.

7. Kelingking (T-Rex beach)

Kelingking is one of the most photographed places on Nusa Penida, and one of the best Nusa Penida photo spots. The cliff structure looks like a T-Rex from the top, making it a top attraction on the island. The actual beach is really difficult to reach, so we suggest taking your shot from the top.

Please note – do not climb the barriers here as it’s extremely dangerous. There are so many spots here to get a good photo that it’s really not necessary to put yourself at risk.

8. Broken Beach

Broken Beach is famous for its legends, with part of the land having collapsed to create a hole in the ground. The bay is connected by an arch to the ocean, and you can walk all around the top of the circle for beautiful views.

9. Angel Billabong

Next to Broken Beach is Billabong, which is a natural infinity pool that connects to the ocean. Visit here during low tidy when the water becomes crystal clear. At high tide, it can become dangerous due to the waves, and the water also becomes muddy making it hard to get good shots.

The rocks here are very sharp, so if you want to go for a swim wear rock shoes or flip flops.
